Nicholas Dagostino, 23, died at Lahey Burlington Medical Center on May 29, officials said.
A Waltham man has been indicted on manslaughter charges in connection with the fatal assault of 23-year-old Nicholas Dagostino of Waltham, according to Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.
Ryan and Waltham Chief of Police Kevin O’Connell confirmed the indictment of 31-year-old Timothy Scalisi of Waltham in a statement Friday.
On May 27, Waltham police police were called to 305 Weston St. following a “physical altercation” between two men, according to the statement.
Officials said the two men exchanged words and got out of their vehicles. During the altercation, Scalisi allegedly picked up the victim and brought him violently to the ground, according to the statement.
After the incident, Dagostino was nauseous, vomiting, and confused before he was transported to the hospital, according to officials.
Despite medical intervention, Dagostino died at Lahey Burlington Medical Center on May 29, according to the statement.
At Scalisi’s arraignment today, bail was set at $10,000. He was ordered to stay away from and have no contact with the victim’s family or witnesses in this case, according to the statement.
He was also ordered to stay in Massachusetts and surrender his passport. His next court date is Nov. 10.
