Vinicius Jr. is staying at Real Madrid.
The Brazilian has inked a new deal with the club, keeping him with Real Madrid until 2032, the team announced on Thursday.
Vinicius Jr. has been with Madrid since 2018, when he was 18 years old. In his eight seasons with the club, he has played 375 matches, scored 128 goals, and won 14 titles: Two Champions Leagues, three Club World Cups, two UEFA Super Cups, three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups.
“Vinicius Jr. has become one of the most important players in one of the most successful periods in our history,” the club said in its announcement.
The winger has also won plenty of individual awards, including The Best FIFA Men’s Player Award 2024, the Golden Ball of the Intercontinental Cup 2024, Best Player of the Champions League 2023-2024, Golden Ball of the Club World Cup 2022, and Best Young Player of the Champions League 2021-2022.
Vinicius Jr. has chosen to remain at Madrid, despite reported interest in him from Arsenal. The club has had a great summer, bringing back Jose Mourinho as head coach and signing Marc Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Carlos Espi, Denzel Dumfries and Yan Diomande.
Financial terms of the extension were not disclosed.
