Restaurant worker injured as Vancouver arrest chase unfolds

When officers arrived, he was seen throwing an object at a vehicle. When they tried to arrest him, he ran off. He was found after a short chase in a bush nearby and taken into custody. It was soon learned that a suspect had allegedly assaulted a restaurant worker who suffered a dislocated shoulder during the scuffle. The suspect description matched the man being held in jail. “The suspect has recently arrived in Vancouver, and has been the subject of over five calls to police

this week,” said Vancouver police Const. Megan Lui in a statement. “The assault appears to have been unprovoked, and the motive is unknown at this time.” Victor Coscarella, 37, originally from Ontario, has been charged with assault causing bodily harm and obstructing a peace officer. He is in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

  1. He threw something at a vehicle and then fought a restaurant worker?? Unprovoked my butt, like there’s always a reason. Hope that shoulder heals.

  2. Wait so Victor Coscarella is from Ontario but he “recently arrived in Vancouver”? I’m guessing it’s like… someone got him mixed up with another guy? I mean they said the description matched, but descriptions can be off. Also dislocated shoulder sounds like a lot for just “assault”…

  3. 5 calls to police in a week and they’re acting like it’s a mystery motive lol. If he’s already known to them then why not stop it sooner? And bail hearing… probably he’ll be out fast anyway. Bush chase makes it sound like Canada went full action movie.
