By the time you’re done scrolling through Venice film photos online, the moment has already passed for most people. This year’s window is different: applications for IndieWire Future of Filmmaking’s Venice Intensive are live, and they’re set to close soon.
The Venice Intensive runs from Tuesday. September 1 through Wednesday. September 9. with access to the Venice International Film Festival plus Future of Filmmaking’s exclusive programming through the American Pavilion (AmPav) and IndieWire. It’s the kind of trip cinephiles chase for a reason—Venice International Film Festival is the world’s oldest film festival and often acts as an early. high-profile signal for the fall movie season and the awards race.
Participants won’t just be trading glances outside theaters. The program pairs festival screenings and programming with broader cultural experiences available in Italy, including outings to the islands of Murano and Burano.
The fee is designed to cover the essentials of being there. It includes eight nights of accommodations in Venice, festival accreditation, exclusive programming, local transportation, a wrap dinner, and alumni membership. That alumni membership includes invites to events in New York City and Los Angeles after the program ends.
