A couple of days ago, after Jake Paul announced his PFL-MVP merger, UFC President Dana White also took a shot at it, and Paul responded. Recently, during Usman Nurmagomedov’s post-fight interview after knocking out Archie Colgan within a round, fans saw it get hijacked by Jake Paul. “The Problem Child” took over Nurmagomedov’s post-match interview as the 28-year-old began talking about his PFL contract coming to a close.
Nurmagomedov is now a heavy favorite to join Paul’s rival promotion, the UFC. However, inside the cage in front of a live audience, Paul tried to persuade Nurmagomedov by offering him a car, a gesture for which Paul is quite well-known. However, the Russian fighter refused the offer and instead asked for a bonus based on his performance against Colgan.
While there are no confirmed certainties around Nurmagomedov’s contract, he is expected to receive hefty offers from both the UFC and Paul’s recent MVP-PFL merged promotion. Later, at the post-match interview, Nurmagomedov took a shot at Paul’s claim of offering his fighters bigger pay than White’s UFC. “MVP, they always trash talk a little bit about Dana [White] and say that he doesn’t pay. Now we’re going to see how they’re going to pay,” Nurmagomedov said.
Fans might expect Nurmagomedov to take a pay cut and join the UFC, which is a more well-known brand than PFL. However, Nurmagomedov also has the opportunity to feature on Netflix following PFL’s recent merger with MVP.
