Two people died in the crash. Firefighters reported that the “aircraft was on fire, and the flames were spreading to the surrounding vegetation.” The plane had taken off from Rennes, and it crashed in the commune of La Baule, according to firefighters.

The mayor of La Baule, Franck Louvrier, later described the aircraft as “a Cessna 421, a twin-engine propeller aircraft with eight seats,” adding that it had taken off from Rennes.

Claude Guillemot’s name has now become part of the unfolding story of the crash. He is described as the owner of the aircraft and a co-founder of Ubisoft. Ouest-France information. which it was able to confirm. says Guillemot—co-founder of Ubisoft along with his four brothers—was one of the two victims.

Guillemot was expected to be in La Baule this weekend for an event involving more than a hundred aircraft. The other passenger was reported to be an instructor from Rennes.
