TSA warns: ranch dressing doesn’t belong in carry-ons

TSA ranch – As World Cup travelers keep trying to fly home with ranch dressing in their carry-ons, the TSA reminded passengers that sauces must follow strict liquid rules: containers of 3.4 ounces or less in a single quart-sized resealable bag, with larger bottles going i

The TSA noticed something new after foreign World Cup fans arrived, tasted American ad breaks, and—apparently—fell for a different kind of craving: ranch dressing.

In an Instagram post on Wednesday. the agency leaned into the moment with light humor. reminding travelers that bottles of ranch dressing belong in checked bags. One image told passengers to “avoid chugging your ranch outside security” because airlines will check larger bottles. Another image counted the interruptions with a punchline: “Days since the last airport ranch incident: 0.”.

The reminder wasn’t just playful. The TSA used the post to spell out how sauces should move through security when traveling within the US. “Are you kicking around the idea of flying home with your favorite dip?. If you’re traveling within the US. make sure to keep your carry-on sauces to 3.4oz or less and place any larger containers in your checked bags. ” the agency wrote in the post caption.

The agency also pointed travelers to the underlying TSA carry-on liquid rules for sauces: liquids must be in containers of 3.4 ounces or less, and all containers must fit inside a single quart-sized, resealable bag. Containers larger than 3.4 ounces need to be checked, even if they aren’t full.

That message instantly pulled brands into the thread. Hidden Valley—credited widely for creating ranch dressing—joined the conversation in the comments with a one-line response: “I approve of this.”

By the time the post finished, the TSA’s stance was clear: the airport may be full of new favorites from the World Cup season, but ranch dressing still has to obey the same carry-on liquid limits as everyone else.

  1. I mean if it’s like 3.4 oz they can keep it, right? But TSA always finds the dumbest stuff to stop people over.

  2. Wait I thought you could bring pretty much any sauce if it’s unopened? Like what if it’s not even liquid like it’s thick ranch… TSA just hates joy lol

  3. Days since the last airport ranch incident: 0 sounds like a video game score. Next they’ll ban ketchup in the carry-on or make you surrender your salsa at the gate. Also why does this happen every World Cup like the stadiums are just serving ranch by the gallon…
