Trump White House’s Attempt To Hijack Beloved Character Backfires Spectacularly

President Donald Trump’s social media team on Tuesday found out the hard way that it’s dangerous to go alone against fans of the beloved Zelda gaming franchise.

Right after the White House posted a video of Trump taking the lead role in a Zelda-style video, critics on social media pushed back all the way to Hyrule.

The 34-second video, which borrows heavily from Nintendo’s iconic intellectual property, gives “The Legend of Zelda” logo a MAGA makeover, turning it into “The Legend of Trump.” A game version of Trump runs into the White House and scribbles on some paper as text on the screen states: “President Trump is working tirelessly… TO MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!!”

Some remade the meme to show a game-ified president on the infamous island once owned by late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who was once close friends with Trump.

Others called out the video as a distraction from Trump’s refusal to release the full files related to Epstein ― and a distraction amid rising prices, record fuel costs, and a war with Iran that’s turning into a quagmire, among other things.

More than a few also noted the irony of the White House using the word “tirelessly” given the president’s tendency to seem to doze off during events.
