Trump vows primary rematch after Boebert Massie push

Trump vows – Rep. Lauren Boebert tried to signal loyalty after her Massachusetts? (Massie) defeat—declaring “Trump is my President!”—but Donald Trump kept pressing for a rival to challenge her in Colorado’s June 30 primary. Trump also cited Boebert’s campaigning for Rep. T

For Rep. Lauren Boebert, a simple social media line wasn’t enough to cool the fight.

On Wednesday. Boebert posted a message that read. “Trump is my President!” along with. “Tonight I celebrated my son’s graduation!. My friend & Co-Chair gave his all in Kentucky!. Trump is my President!. Jesus is Lord!. I look forward to a lifetime filled with joy, purpose, and gratitude. May God continue to bless America and the freedoms that make this nation the greatest.”.

But the shift didn’t land with Donald Trump, who had already threatened again to find someone to run against Boebert in her Colorado Republican primary on June 30. He also added that it was “a little late in the race.”

The clash isn’t just about timing. Boebert has been on the outs with Trump over her support for the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files and over her objections to supplemental budgeting for the Iran war. Those differences. already hanging over her relationship with the president. reentered the spotlight as she campaigned for a man Trump clearly doesn’t like.

While Trump has framed his own political battles around loyalty, Boebert spent more time backing Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky.), a Trump nemesis, during his reelection bid. Her support for Massie appears to have further inflamed the commander in chief.

Before Kentucky’s primary Tuesday, Trump used Truth Social to fire off a direct warning aimed at her. “Boebert is campaigning for the Worst ‘Republican’ Congressman in the History of our Country. Thomas Massie. of the Great Commonwealth of Kentucky. and anybody who can be that dumb deserves a good Primary fight!” Trump wrote.

After that post, Boebert responded on X on Saturday. She wrote, “Yes, I saw the President’s post.” Then she rejected the idea that she was backing away. “No, I’m not mad or offended. I knew the risks when I agreed to stand by my friend Thomas Massie. I was, and will be, America First, America Always, and MAGA. Onward.”.

Taken together, the sequence is stark: a declaration of fealty after Kentucky campaigning, a White House-linked threat to intervene in Colorado, and a continued insistence from Boebert that she will stand by Massie even if Trump draws blood politically.

What matters now is whether Trump actually follows through on the promise of putting a primary challenger in Boebert’s path by June 30. For Boebert, the next move won’t just test her messaging. It will test how much “Trump is my President!” can soften a feud when the president decides the stakes are bigger than the words.

  1. I swear these people just say “loyalty” like it’s a brand deal. If she posted “Trump is my President” and he’s still mad then what even is the point.

  2. Wait, I thought Boebert already beat someone in Massachusetts or whatever? Like why are they talking about Kentucky and Colorado at the same time. Also Thomas Massie sounds familiar but is he the one that fought Trump about something with Iran? I’m confused.

  3. June 30 primary, and Trump’s like “too late in the race” — ok so he’s mad she didn’t genuflect fast enough. And the Epstein file thing… I mean, none of this is about policy anymore, it’s just punishment games. If he really puts up a challenger, that’s going to backfire on her or on him, not sure which. Probably both, honestly.
