Trump voters in Ohio vent panic, prices, broken promises

Ohio Trump – In interviews aired on Jen Psaki’s MS NOW, several Ohio voters who backed Donald Trump multiple times said they feel trapped by rising costs, abandoned campaign promises, and what they described as worsening financial strain—one describing panic attacks and an

When Annette Dombrowski walked through the grocery aisle this past week. she said it didn’t just feel expensive—it triggered panic. In interviews aired on Jen Psaki’s MS NOW on Thursday. Dombrowski. an Ohio voter who has cast ballots for Donald Trump three times. said she “actually have panic attacks” and that “I’ve had a couple this past week.”.

She also described the emotional pressure of trying to hold on to work even as her situation tightens. Dombrowski said she faces losing her janitor job when her plant closes at the end of June. “I don’t want to work anymore, but I can’t afford to retire,” she said.

Pressed about why she believes Trump doesn’t understand what Americans like her are living through, Dombrowski said the problem is lived experience, not perception. “He hasn’t lived it to understand it. He sees it; he has not lived it,” she said. “He needs to live it.”

Her frustration was blunt about daily choices she said she can’t make anymore. “Wear the clothes, wear the shoes, wear your Walmart clothes, wear your Walmart shoes. Do your thrift store shopping. Don’t eat steaks. I don’t get to go out to dinner.”

She said the anger isn’t tied to one bad month—it has become routine. “It’s not an overnight thing, but it’s been two years now,” she said. “You said you’d bring down the grocery prices. Literally. I must be the most angry person when I grocery shop because I buy the same things every week and I see it jump every week. It is not every couple months, it’s literally every week.”.

Another Trump voter, Chris Tackett, a truck driver from Ohio who said he voted for Trump three times as well, framed the collapse as a reversal of promises. He said Trump had “held true to everything that he said he was going to do” during his first term—but argued the second term is different.

Tackett described what he says Trump promised during the election and what he thinks has followed. “Trump has ‘backtracked on every single pitch point he had during his election,’” he said. “All we heard was ‘drill. drill. drill’ during the election and now all we’re getting is drilled into the dirt with these prices.”.

Asked whether he still supports Trump after what he’s seen, Tackett said no. “So, I’m not a fan of him. I voted for Trump all three terms. To be honest with you, I’m not a big supporter of him at this point,” he added.

His message to the president was simple and impatient. “Get it together, man. … You’ve had a year to make it better at this point, make it better. ‘Make America Great Again,’ right?”

Rob Couch, who identified himself as a one-time Trump voter, offered the harshest rebuke when asked what he would say directly to Trump. “Fuck you,” he said. “I don’t mean to be disrespectful to any leader, but he’s disrespectful to us and he doesn’t care.”

The interviews were conducted by reporter Alex Tabet. and Psaki—who previously served as White House press secretary under President Joe Biden—said the exchanges reflected Trump supporters “entering their very own buyer’s remorse era.” In the three accounts. the sense of regret comes through not as a political slogan. but as something measured week to week: panic in the grocery store. job insecurity looming at the end of June. and a conviction that the promises made during the campaign never arrived the way voters were expecting.
