Trump Said The Fed Was ‘Becocked’ And… Sorry, What?

Donald Trump’s latest gripe about the Federal Reserve is going viral thanks to one very bizarre word he used.
During a recent interview, Punchbowl News editor Jake Sherman asked Trump if Kevin Warsh, the newly appointed Fed chair, should avoid raising interest rates before the midterm elections in November.
Trump’s response was strange, mainly because he used a word few people are familiar with: “becocked.”
“You know in the old days… if you announced good numbers, interest rates went down because you were better credit,” Trump said. “Makes sense, right? Now it’s all becocked — now it’s all a different thing. If you announce great numbers, everybody is depressed.”
Yes, there’s video, but it probably won’t clarify things.
Unlike Trump’s previous kooky vocabulary choices, such as “infantroopen,” or “covfefe,” some people were convinced he was using a real but arcane word that means “shitty,” while others claimed he really meant to say “fakakta,” a Yiddish word meaning “ridiculous.”
“Becocked” does not appear on either Dictionary.com or Merriam-Webster.com, though Wiktionary.com defines it as “shitty,” while UrbanDictionary.com spells it as “becoked” and says it’s a verb that means “applied cocaine liberally to a surface.”
In fact, “becocked” only seems to have been around since May 2024, when Trump used the term while complaining about former President Joe Biden’s student debt forgiveness programs.
Referring to Biden, Trump griped, “So he didn’t obey the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States, and now he’s doing another one, which is actually a smaller version, but it’s even more becocked, OK?”
The White House did not respond to HuffPost’s request for a definition. In the meantime, the president’s word choice stumped people on social media as well.
