Trump reposts old Post cover as dementia rumors surge

President Donald Trump reposted a three-month-old New York Post front page on Truth Social, reigniting questions about his posting habits and fueling fresh scrutiny amid ongoing dementia concerns.
Donald Trump hit repost on Truth Social with the confidence of a man who knows exactly what he wants you to see—then chose an image that was already months old.
The President reposted a three-month-old New York Post front page, captioning it “Have it!!! Great. President DJT,” along with praise for the economic message from his February State of the Union address. The cover’s headline read “Trump wins gold.”
But the timing didn’t land quietly. The front page dated back several months, and that gap drew attention online, resurfacing questions about how Trump manages his public postings—and how quickly he appears to react in public moments.
Those concerns have been swirling alongside a separate, louder debate about Trump’s cognitive health.
Dr. John Gartner. a clinical psychologist and former assistant professor of psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University Medical School. has been among the most outspoken critics. Speaking on “The Daily Beast Podcast. ” Gartner said Trump had been “showing signs of frontotemporal dementia since 2019. ” adding that the decline was “accelerating.” He argued that remote diagnosis discussions were “almost beside the point. ” saying. “Anybody who has eyes. ears. and a brain — and hasn’t drunk the Kool-Aid or been bitten by a MAGA zombie — can see for themselves that this person is transparently mentally ill and cognitively deteriorating.” He also said. “you don’t even need to be a doctor” to recognize potential problems.
In an April interview on the same podcast. Gartner said Trump was “not the same man he was four weeks ago.” He described frontotemporal dementia as primarily a “behavioral problem. ” involving the loss of “all judgment. all inhibition. all ability to inhibit behavior. ” with patients becoming “disinhibited and aggressive.” “He’s a raging id with no frontal lobes and no guardrails. ” Gartner said.
Trump has repeatedly denied claims that he is cognitively impaired. In December 2025. Trump posted on Truth Social that discussions about his health were “seditious. perhaps even treasonous. ” according to The New Republic. He also said he scored “100%” on multiple cognitive exams at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
Dr. Vin Gupta. a senior medical analyst for MS Now. also raised concerns in April 2026 after Trump posted a profanity-filled Easter message. Writing on X, Gupta described Trump as “Erratic. Can’t finish sentences. Often confused. An illogical train of thought. Word-finding difficulties. Developing and worsening gradually over time.” He concluded, “The President is exhibiting all the signs of dementia.”.
For weeks, the debate has been sharpened by details that critics say point to a pattern, not a single incident—especially when Trump appears to be awake late.
An analysis published in May by The Daily Beast found Trump posted on Truth Social 189 times between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. local time during April alone. The report said 83 percent of nights in that month included at least one late-night post. while only five days appeared to allow for a full night’s sleep. The publication noted that in April 2018, Trump posted 250 times on Twitter during the entire month.
In April, it said Trump posted 565 times on Truth Social, averaging roughly 18 posts per day.
Late-night behavior has also been linked to broader concerns by those criticizing his cognitive state. Daily Beast chief content officer Joanna Coles said on the outlet’s podcast. “I mean. the diagram that we have of this. this information about him sleeping is really alarming.” She added that Trump appears to be “sleep disordered. ” and said the analysis “suggests that the longest time he seems to sleep is about three hours.” According to Coles. the volume of overnight posting “suggests he is having anxiety in the middle of the night.”.
The latest flare-up began with a simple act—reposting a New York Post cover—but it arrived at the same time as renewed attention on whether Trump’s public habits and timing reflect anything more serious. A late-night posting pattern has become one piece of the wider argument. while the cognitive-health dispute continues to clash with the White House’s repeated denials.

So he reposted an old cover… that’s it? People act like he invented time. lol
The dementia rumors are already gonna trend anyway but the fact it’s a 3-month-old Post cover makes it look like he doesn’t even know what he’s posting. Like did someone just hand him a picture??
I swear half these headlines are just clickbait. Old cover, new date, who cares. Also they said “frontotemporal dementia” like that means automatically it’s real. Remote diagnosis is dumb, but then the article acts like it’s science.
“Trump wins gold” like… why would they even pick that if he’s “mentally deteriorating” or whatever. Seems like he’s rushing and grabbing stuff without checking. But then I’ve also seen him nail stuff so idk, maybe it’s just a staffer messing with him? The whole MAGA zombie line is wild too.
