Donald Trump is facing a noticeable shake-up at the White House as several of his trusted aides leave his side.
Their exits come ahead of a high-stakes midterm battle while Trump confronts a growing list of political and legal challenges.

Trump’s aides leaving office does not guarantee trouble for his administration, but it could be problematic for a president who relies on a relatively small group of loyalists.
A former Trump official told Politico that some people may already see “the writing on the wall” and expect Republicans to lose control of one or both chambers of Congress.
“People are thinking, ‘What are my post administration business prospects? Is it worth taking these hits every single day, being part of these battles and how does that hurt my prospects when I go to the private sector?” the person added.
Presidential historian Tevi Troy also pointed to the difficulty of replacing aides who have worked with Trump for years.
According to him, if someone is “loyal and they are ideologically on the same team as you,” replacing them can prove difficult.
Chris Whipple, a political analyst, offered an even darker premonition. “Nothing but choppy waters ahead, treacherous waters ahead,” he declared.
Whipple argued that Trump is “dead in the water with or without them.” Whipple further predicted the outcome as “ugly and unproductive and maybe even worse over the next two years.”
For now, replacements for key vacancies have not been announced, but whoever takes the spot will have to deal with a potential Democratic-controlled Congress, several legal troubles, the Iran War and an open Republican presidential primary.

Press secretary Karoline Leavitt plans to leave the White House after the birth of her second child. She announced her decision in an X post, saying the demands of her role made it difficult to give her two young children the attention they deserve.
James Braid, Trump’s top liaison to Congress, also announced his departure and his final day at the White House will be on September 30.
The president also revealed that pardon attorney and longtime ally Ed Martin will leave for the private sector and this news comes after White House counsel Dave Warrington’s exit.
Midterm elections typically trigger staff turnover and some insiders see a more practical reason for the departures, i.e. aides may want to leave while Republicans still control Congress and their political relationships remain valuable.
