When President Donald Trump logged on to Truth Social Thursday evening, he didn’t just criticize Rep. Jamie Raskin. He escalated—calling the Maryland Democrat a “loser in life,” and demanding that he be expelled from Congress.
Trump’s post came with a screenshot of remarks from Fox News host Mark Levin. Levin’s claim. shared by Trump. said Raskin should be expelled because he is “leading a plot to impeach” the president and because of his role as the lead manager of Trump’s second impeachment trial. among other things. Trump wrote: “I agree with Mark Levin when he says to, EXPEL THE BUM.”.
Trump also added that Congress “can never be great with people like this. ” saying they “suffer massively from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS). casting their vote of HATE!” He went further. arguing that if Raskin “hadn’t been given a preemptive pardon by then-President Joe Biden. he’d be in jail right now!”.
That reference points to pardons Biden issued to members of the Jan. 6 committee and others—described in the source as protection from “revenge” by Trump.
Raskin’s place in Trump’s political crosshairs has been clear for months. The congressman is a frequent critic. and just last month Raskin publicly accused Trump of using the Oval Office to enrich himself. “We’ve never seen abuse like the kind of abuse that has taken place under Donald Trump. ” Raskin said at the time.
Raskin has also pushed hard on the question of Trump’s health. He called for Trump to face a “comprehensive cognitive assessment” amid growing concerns. In April, Raskin said, “We have indisputably entered the realm of profound medical difficulty and concern.”
Then there’s the issue of Jeffrey Epstein—another line of attack Raskin has kept in front of voters. Raskin has been vocal about Trump’s ties to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. who was once described in the source as a close Trump friend. He has demanded the full release of the Epstein files. Earlier this year. Raskin said that searching Trump’s name in the unredacted files lawmakers had access to produced “more than a million results.”.
Even with Trump’s forceful call for expulsion, the political math makes it extraordinarily difficult. While both the House and Senate have the power to expel members, doing so requires a two-thirds vote from the chamber in question. That threshold is why expulsion is rare.
Since the Civil War, only three lawmakers—each a House member—have been expelled. The most recent was former Rep. George Santos (R-N.Y.). Santos was expelled after he was charged with fraud. He was later convicted in a criminal trial and sentenced to 87 months in prison. but the source says he served just three months before Trump commuted his sentence.
Trump’s Thursday night outburst may not change the odds of expulsion by itself, but it does make the fight more personal—and more public. Raskin’s history of pushing on Trump’s conduct, his health, and the Epstein files has set the stage for a clash that, at the very least, shows no sign of cooling.

Expel who? Congress is a mess anyway.
So he’s calling Jamie Raskin a loser and then saying he should be expelled like that’s just normal. If they expel people for opinions then half of DC should be gone. Also “TDS” is just a cute way to not answer stuff.
