Trump celebrates George Conway defeat in New York primary

Trump celebrates – President Donald Trump publicly celebrated George Conway’s loss in New York’s 12th congressional district Democratic primary after Conway, a longtime Trump critic, finished fifth. Trump used Truth Social language to mock Conway and draw attention to Conway’s l
President Donald Trump didn’t wait for the last votes to settle before he turned George Conway’s defeat into a message—loud, personal, and delivered in public.
On Tuesday. Conway. an attorney and longtime critic of Trump. ran as a Democrat in New York’s 12th congressional district after Rep. Jerry Nadler announced his retirement. By the time the primary was called, State Rep. Micah Lasher had won, defeating State Rep. Alex Bores by about four points. In third place was Jack Kennedy Schlossberg. described as a Kennedy family scion and a “weird social media poster.” Nina Schwalbe. a public health researcher. finished fourth. Conway ended fifth, with the president highlighting that Conway was at 6.1% and had about 6,200 votes out of 102,000 cast.
After the results were in, Trump went to Truth Social and posted a series of remarks aimed squarely at Conway. Trump referred to Kellyanne Conway as George’s “husband,” writing, “Wow, Mr. Kellyanne Conway. a Trump Deranged Loser at the highest level. is getting absolutely CRUSHED in the Primaries tonight.” He added that Conway would “end up at about 5% of the vote in a rather weak field of young and aggressive Communists. ” before saying. “No wonder his ‘husband’ dumped him like a dog!” Trump finished the post calling Conway “a truly unattractive person. both inside and out. ” telling him. “Have a nice life. George!”.
The president’s celebration landed in the same political moment the White House had been sharply targeting Conway’s campaign messaging. Earlier this month. the White House issued a statement slamming one of Conway’s campaign ads in which Conway pledged to put Trump in prison. In the ad. Conway said. “I know you like putting your name on everything. from your plane to the Kennedy Center. ” and then followed with: “But the only thing your name is going to be left on when I’m done with you is the orange jumpsuit you’re going to have to wear in prison.”.
The White House responded with language that framed Conway’s criticism as more than political—describing it as pathological. The statement called Conway “Lightweight George Conway” and said he was “a stupid person’s idea of a smart person. ” adding that his “severe and debilitating disease known as Trump Derangement syndrome has melted his brain and made him crazy in the head.”.
Taken together. the primary numbers and the White House’s ad attack show how the race in New York’s 12th district has become less about distance between rivals and more about escalation—Trump treating the loss as a verdict. and the White House treating Conway’s own words about prison as proof of a deeper grievance.
For Conway. Tuesday’s outcome means he ends the primary with about 6.1% of the vote at the time of this writing. For the winner of the race. Micah Lasher—who takes the nomination after defeating Alex Bores by about four points—the focus now shifts toward the general election. even as Trump and his allies continue to turn the campaign into a personal confrontation.

So he celebrated someone losing? That tracks.
I mean Conway was always acting like he was above it all, but 5% seems low? Also why is Trump calling his wife stuff like that, it’s kinda weird. Don’t know what any of this has to do with the actual district though.
It says Conway finished fifth and Trump posted he’d get like 5%, but the article also says the field was weak? If it was “weak,” then why is everyone acting like it’s a huge win for Trump. And is that Kellyanne thing even accurate or just random Truth Social rambling?
This is why I can’t stand politics anymore. Trump mocking Conway like “have a nice life” is so childish, like middle school drama. But I also saw something about this on TikTok that Conway “lost because of the White House,” which sounds made up but idk. Meanwhile people are out here worried about groceries. This whole New York thing feels like a show, not real life.
