Trump Breaks Years of Criticism With Clinton Praise

Trump praises – Donald Trump offered a rare moment of praise for Bill Clinton during an appearance on Usha Vance’s “Storytime with the Second Lady,” praising a White House jogging track and calling Clinton “a nice guy.”
Donald Trump didn’t spend the episode dissecting politics—at least not for long. On Usha Vance’s podcast “Storytime with the Second Lady,” the president picked up a children’s book and turned it into his own running commentary, delivering an unexpected compliment for Bill Clinton.
Trump read the White House Historical Association book “Presidents Play!” — described in the story as detailing the preferred outdoor activities of former presidents — and when he reached the entry for Clinton, his tone shifted.
“Then you have President Bill Clinton — he ran on a special jogging track,” Trump said. “He had a little track built for him at the White House. That’s nice. I didn’t even know that until recently, but he had a track built at the White House.”

He went further, adding a personal note about what he believes his own life looks like compared to Clinton’s. “I don’t think I’ll ever do that. I don’t see myself doing that, I don’t know. But he actually was a nice guy. I like Bill Clinton a lot. I still do.”
The president then moved on to Abraham Lincoln, saying Lincoln “rode horses,” and that he’d “like to ride horses too.” Trump also acknowledged the risks of that kind of activity, saying, “But when you fall off a horse, I’ve seen too many bad things happen.”
The moment landed against a backdrop of deep friction between Trump and the Clintons. They’ve been “largely antagonistic toward one another” since the president ran against Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.
And when controversies involving Epstein resurfaced last year through the slow release of the Epstein files. Trump repeatedly sought to shift the spotlight onto Democrats. including Clinton. In a Truth Social post from November. he wrote that House Republicans should vote to release the Epstein files. insisting. “we have nothing to hide. ” and framing the effort as the end of a “Democrat Hoax.” He also referenced “Great Success of the Republican Party. including our recent Victory on the Democrat ‘Shutdown. ’”.
Trump added in that post that the Department of Justice “has already turned over tens of thousands of pages to the Public on ‘Epstein. ’” and said it was “looking at various Democrat operatives (Bill Clinton. Reid Hoffman. Larry Summers. etc.) and their relationship to Epstein.” He concluded: “and the House Oversight Committee can have whatever they are legally entitled to. I DON’T CARE!”.
