Trump adviser Peter Navarro erupts over Jeanine Pirro, demands she fire Justice Department prosecutor John Crabb: ‘Never mention her name to me’
White House adviser Peter Navarro is publicly demanding that U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro fire a federal prosecutor involved in his contempt of Congress case, adding to mounting pressure on the former Fox News host.

Navarro erupted during an appearance on Steve Bannon‘s “War Room” podcast when Pirro’s name was mentioned, accusing her of failing to remove Assistant U.S. Attorney John Crabb.
Crabb helped prosecute Navarro and Bannon after they defied congressional subpoenas issued by the House committee investigating the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack.
Both men were convicted of contempt of Congress and served prison sentences, while a federal appeals court recently upheld Navarro’s conviction.
“Never mention her name to me — because that woman still refuses to fire John Crabb,” Navarro said.
Targeting John Crabb
Navarro argued Crabb “was involved in putting you and me behind bars” and questioned why the prosecutor remains at the Justice Department.
The attack adds another complication for Pirro, who has already faced criticism from President Donald Trump over her office’s decision to drop charges in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool case.
Trump publicly rebuked his longtime ally, saying she “choked” and “folded like an umbrella” after prosecutors concluded the damage was caused by a flawed renovation project rather than vandalism.
Trump appointed Pirro, a former Fox News host and judge, as interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia in May 2025 after withdrawing his previous nominee. She was officially sworn in on May 28, 2025, and was later confirmed by the Senate.
The contempt effort
Navarro’s comments come as Pirro could face another politically charged contempt case.
The Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee recently voted to hold former White House COVID adviser Anthony Fauci in contempt of Congress after he invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times while testifying about the government’s response to the pandemic.
Republican Sen. Rand Paul has said he intends to refer the matter for possible prosecution.
The contempt effort has gained momentum following the release of Fauci-related records, including a government-issued pandemic-era cellphone obtained by congressional investigators.
