The Trinidad Guardian shared that the former St Augustine Secondary midfielder “played the final minutes of the sport
he loved dearly before tragically passing away in the presence of his teammates”.. He would have been 46 in June.. Describing Ramcharan as one of the finest midfielders to play for “The Green Machine”, St Augustine Secondary, the newspaper noted that he was representing the school’s old boys in an Over-40 final.. Citing witnesses, the report shared that the deceased only played about 15 minutes of the match before requesting a substitution; while he was
on the bench, Ramcharan’s close friend and former schoolmate Brian Bain noticed he had slumped over.. Bain told the Guardian that in the resulting commotion, the game stopped, and efforts were made to resuscitate him.. Unfortunately, the efforts were unsuccessful, and Ramcharan was pronounced dead at the Chaguanas Health Centre..
