Trey McBride fires back at Seahawks’ trash talk
Cardinals tight end Trey McBride says he dislikes the Seahawks most in the NFC West, pointing to what he calls aggressive “shit talk” from Seattle’s defense and a hostile Lumen Field atmosphere.
Trey McBride didn’t take long to name the NFC West rival he struggles with most.
Asked on Bussin’ With The Boys which team he dislikes the most, the Cardinals tight end picked Seattle. McBride credited the Seahawks as a good team in a good stadium, but made it clear the problems start the moment the Cardinals step into Lumen Field.
“To be honest, I think it’s Seattle,” McBride said. “That’s a tough place to play. Their defense is a bunch of shit talkers. They have a really good team. too. so I feel like every time we go to Seattle it’s such a hostile environment. Lumen Field is such a cool place to play. and they’ve gotten the best of us the last couple times. so it would be nice to get back on the winning side.”.
When the conversation turned to whether Seattle’s defense has been able to “lock” McBride down, he pushed back. The Cardinals’ visit to Seattle in Week 10 still feels raw: McBride recorded nine catches for 127 yards and a touchdown in a 44-22 loss.
“I don’t know about locked me up, I went for like 130, but we lost,” McBride said.
For all the personal bright spots, the bigger picture hasn’t swung in Arizona’s favor. In McBride’s four seasons in Arizona, the Cardinals are 0-8 against the Seahawks. Even with moments like his Week 10 production, the results haven’t followed him back from Seattle.
That’s why his complaint sounded less like a jab and more like a request—get past the noise, get past the hostility, and finally flip the script the next time the teams meet.
Trey McBride Arizona Cardinals Seattle Seahawks Lumen Field NFC West Week 10 NFL
Lumen Field is always loud as hell. I get it.
He says “shit talkers” like they aren’t all doing it. And he’s mad but also he caught 9 passes? Seems like he’s just mad they didn’t win lol.
Bruh he said 0-8 against them, so maybe the problem isn’t the trash talk? Like defenses don’t lock you up if you’re the whole offense? Sounds like he blaming the stadium vibes instead of execution.
Seattle fans talk like that and then act shocked when people don’t like them. Also I swear half the time the Cardinals are already thinking about that last game, like the score 44-22 is stuck in their head. McBride should just run faster routes or whatever, but yeah hostile atmosphere is real. Still weird to call out “shit talk” when football is literally trash talk all day.
