Trevon Diggs: I’m looking to show I’m still the best
Trevon Diggs led the league with 11 interceptions in 2021 and earned All-Pro honors, becoming one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL in his second season. He played 17 games in 2022, earned Pro Bowl honors for a second time and signed a five-year, $97 million extension in the 2023 offseason.
Since then, he has played 22 games and undergone three procedures on his knee.
Diggs, who turns 28 next month, believes he can go back to the future in Mike Macdonald’s multiple, switching, attacking defense. He signed a one-year deal with the Seahawks this week.
“It looks amazing,” Diggs said, via Gregg Bell of The News Tribune. “You know, they get to the quarterback. They create turnovers. They do all the right things. So, you know, I’m excited to hopefully be a part of it.
“I’m looking to show I’m still the best. I’m looking to show that I just want to win.”
Diggs tore his ACL in September 2023 and underwent an additional surgery on his knee in December 2024. In January 2025, Diggs underwent a chondral tissue and bone graft surgery on his left knee to repair persistent cartilage damage.
Diggs, Seahawks outside linebacker DeMarcus Lawrence and Seahawks cornerback Noah Igbinoghene were teammates with the Cowboys, and Seattle’s defensive coordinator Aden Durde was Dallas’ defensive line coach when Diggs was there. Familiarity convinced Diggs he was in the right place.
“Talking to those guys, they said it was a great fit,” Diggs said of Seattle. “Just everything that they have going here, I would love to be a part of it.”
