Tra’Von Hall flips from Oklahoma to Ole Miss

Central Tuscaloosa High School athlete Tra’Von Hall flipped his commitment from the Oklahoma Sooners to the Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday night, giving Ole Miss its 15th commitment in the 2027 cycle under head coach Pete Golding.

Saturday night didn’t just change a recruiting headline—it shifted the shape of Ole Miss’ 2027 class.

Tra’Von Hall, a Central Tuscaloosa High School athlete who had been committed to the Oklahoma Sooners since November 30, 2025, flipped to the Ole Miss Rebels. The decision gives Ole Miss its 15th commitment in the 2027 cycle under head coach Pete Golding.

Hall’s flip wasn’t random. His recruitment picked up momentum this spring as multiple programs pushed for his services. including the Rebels. Florida Gators. and LSU Tigers. He took an official visit to Florida on May 28 and more recently visited Oxford during a crucial Ole Miss official visit weekend.

Oklahoma still had one more scheduled opportunity on the calendar. Hall had an Oklahoma official visit planned for June 12, though the trip reportedly may no longer be likely following his commitment change.

What Ole Miss is getting is a prospect valued for how he can produce in different roles. Hall is a three-star prospect ranked No. 691 overall in the 2027 class by the 247Sports composite rankings. He is also listed as the No. 78 wide receiver nationally and the No. 25 player in the state of Alabama.

His on-field résumé from the 2025 season reflects that versatility. Hall recorded 41 carries for 519 yards and nine touchdowns as a runner. while also adding 25 receptions for 355 yards and two receiving touchdowns. The ability to contribute as both a wide receiver and running back has been central to how his game is evaluated.

This is also Ole Miss continuing to build at wide receiver. Hall becomes the second wide receiver in Ole Miss’ 2027 class, joining New Orleans product Miguel Whitley. He arrives into a recruiting group that already includes commitments such as defensive lineman Ben’Jarvius Shumaker. linebacker Jeremiah Culpepper. cornerback Taelyn Mayo. and quarterback Keegan Croucher. among others.

For Oklahoma, the loss lands at a tough time for the 2027 receiver board. Hall’s departure comes on the same day Demare Dezeurn flipped to Cal. With Hall gone, Oklahoma is left with Greydon Howell as its only wide receiver commit in the class.

Hall’s offer list shows how broad the interest has been. His recruitment included offers from Power 4 programs such as Alabama, Florida, LSU, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State, Cincinnati, and Colorado. He also drew attention from Group of Five programs including Tulane, Memphis, Troy, Liberty, and Miami (Ohio).
