Trader Joe’s striped mini totes arrive June 17—limited

Trader Joe’s is rolling out new insulated mini striped tote bags starting Wednesday, June 17. Priced at $2.99 with limited supply, the small bags—13 inches long—already have shoppers lining up, while the company also says it has filed a lawsuit to stop knockof
The lines form fast when Trader Joe’s drops a new tote. This time, it’s the insulated mini striped bags—small enough for a quick run, but popular enough that “limited supply” is turning into a countdown.
Trader Joe’s says the new line of insulated mini bags will be available beginning Wednesday, June 17. The bags come in four striped pastel colors and measure 13 inches long, 11 inches tall, and six inches wide. They’re made from a heavy-duty blend of cotton and polyester and include a pocket on each side.
The chain’s pitch is simple: the size is meant for “smaller shopping trips” when you only need a few items—and when you forget something the first time around. Trader Joe’s also warned shoppers to grab them while they can, saying supplies are limited.
The price is part of the rush. Customers can get the new summer totes for $2.99 each, with limited availability.
Trader Joe’s isn’t just leaning into the season—it’s continuing a viral tote bag tradition. From “Trick-or-Treat Mini Canvas Totes” to “Micro Totes. ” and now these insulated mini tote bags. the striped mini canvas totes are the latest addition to a collectible lineup that has become hard to find in-store.
Earlier this year, the brand added to the momentum in multiple ways. A lavender version of a $8.99 reusable insulated bag recently debuted in stores. Trader Joe’s also brought back the pastel mini canvas tote bags in March and launched a new large canvas bag.
The mini totes have developed a cult-like following, including among fashion-conscious customers. The bags first went viral in March 2024, and procuring one has been increasingly difficult as the demand grew online.
That demand has now collided with a second problem: knockoffs. Trader Joe’s told USA TODAY it has recently filed a lawsuit to protect customers from fake tote bags sold online. In an emailed statement. the company said. “We are aware that some knockoff totes are being sold online and have recently filed a lawsuit to protect our customers from being misled.” It added that it only offers Trader Joe’s products for sale inside its stores.
Even with no Trader Joe’s stores abroad, the bags still travel. Trader Joe’s totes have been listed on international marketplaces including Coupang. Depop. and Karrot. as well as on eBay and Mercari. With no Trader Joe’s stores abroad, resale prices posted by U.S. shoppers are often dramatically higher than in-store prices—sometimes exceeding $1,000.
The new insulated striped mini bags drop Wednesday, June 17, and at $2.99 with limited supply, the same question shoppers have been asking since the craze started is already back: will they be there when you arrive?

13 inches?? that’s basically a lunch bag lol
I swear every time I hear “limited supply” people just camp out for a tote. $2.99 isn’t even worth the chaos, but of course it is.
Wait are these the ones that keep your stuff cold for like 2 minutes? Also the lawsuit thing—does that mean they’re trying to stop Target from selling striped bags or what? I’m confused.
Trader Joe’s always doing “drops” like it’s sneakers. It says June 17 and already shoppers lining up… how early do you even need to be there? And they made it heavy-duty cotton/poly with pockets on each side but it’s called mini so I’m like why would I need insulation?? I think I saw a knockoff at my store already though so the lawsuit might not matter anyway.
