Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis Delayed to Feb 2027

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is moving to February 12, 2027 after a gameplay reveal at State of Play. The delay shifts it into a crowded window that also includes Microsoft’s delayed Fable, while Lara Croft’s broader franchise continues to change behind the
The screen didn’t linger on suspense—it moved on quickly, showing gameplay and landing the date like a stamp. During State of Play, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis confirmed a release date of February 12, 2027, with the earlier plan now clearly out of the picture.
The new timing comes right after a leak that pointed in the same direction. On X / Twitter. Wario64—who tweets affiliate links for Amazon—shared links to two Amazon listings for Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis. The posts appeared to confirm a $59.99 price point and a February 10, 2027 release date. Neither link is currently live.
There’s still no official explanation for why Tomb Raider is being pushed back. But the reshuffle lands in a market moment that’s hard to ignore: GTA 6 is set to launch in November. That kind of heavyweight release tends to pull attention, players, and store shelves toward one center of gravity. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis now won’t compete head-on with that November launch—it’s been moved past it.
Instead, it’s drifting into a different kind of pressure. Microsoft’s Fable was also delayed, arriving in February 2027 as well. The window is getting tighter for any triple-A release that wants to stand out, especially when two major franchises are effectively arriving in the same breath.
Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis isn’t just another entry in the series. It’s a remake of the original 1996 Tomb Raider. The developer behind it, Crystal Dynamics, is also working on another Tomb Raider project: Tomb Raider: Catalyst, which was due out at some point in 2027.
Even the cast is part of the reshaping. Alix Wilton Regan plays Lara Croft in both games, replacing Camilla Luddington, who portrayed Lara Croft in the Survivor Trilogy.
Behind the scenes, Crystal Dynamics has been through its own churn. In March, Crystal Dynamics suffered its fourth redundancy round in 12 months. The studio insisted it remained “fully committed to the future development” of the Lara Croft franchise.
Publishing is also part of the current setup. The upcoming Tomb Raider games are published by Amazon. Amazon is also working on a Tomb Raider TV show for Prime Video starring Game of Thrones’ Sophie Turner.
The announcement doesn’t end the story—it changes the calendar. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis now has a fixed point in February 2027, after the leak that suggested it was coming and before players even get to see how it holds up against what’s already lined up.
And with State of Play putting the new date in front of everyone, the question shifts from whether it would be delayed to what that delay will buy. The February slate is suddenly crowded—just as another blockbuster franchise prepares to join it.

February 12 2027? wow that’s forever lol
So they delayed it because of GTA 6 right? Makes sense but also kinda lame. Like everyone just gonna forget about Lara by then.
I saw that leak on Twitter about Amazon listings and I swear it said Feb 10 not Feb 12. So is it two versions or what? Either way $59.99 seems like they’re trying to sneak the price up without saying it.
Delayed into the same month as Fable?? That’s gonna be brutal. Also if this is a remake of the 1996 one, why am I just now hearing about it being a remake like… months ago I thought it was new. And why didn’t they explain anything? Feels like they’re hiding problems or something.
