When it came to how she found out, Zendaya said it happened “literally” the way it sounds: they were “in the same room” when the call came through.
Holland is clearly excited about what RDJ’s return means for the Marvel universe. But when the conversation turned to what it could mean for his own Spider-Man/Peter Parker, he stayed deliberately tight-lipped.

“ I don’t know a lot about those movies. I think by design. ” Holland said. explaining that he has a reputation for spoiling things and that the studios are “keeping me from the juicy details.” He did add that the curiosity is already there: once he gets to “grace that set. ” he’ll be “very curious” about what it means for Peter and “how does that work. ” saying he’s “very excited about… whatever it is they’re doing.”.
What’s already clear is that Holland’s next step in the Marvel story is arriving soon. He will next be seen in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” alongside Zendaya’s MJ. The film follows up a trilogy of Jon Watts-directed features, with Destin Daniel Cretton now at the helm.
Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers returned to write the screenplay for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” though TheWrap learned that Justin Kuritzkes boarded the movie for rewrites.
