Tom Cruise Makes Surprise NASCAR Appearance at Daytona Following ‘Days of Thunder’ Sequel News | Just Jared

Tom Cruise made an appearance at NASCAR’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 on Saturday (August 29) at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Fla.
The 64-year-old actor attended the drivers’ meeting and spoke on stage to those in attendance, just hours after announcing the upcoming Days of Thunder sequel!
He was joined by producer Jerry Bruckheimer, director Jonathan Levine, producer Tommy Harper, and screenwriter Will Staples.

Tom was seen chatting with the NASCAR drivers ahead of the race, greeting fans, taking pictures, and standing for the National Anthem.
That night, Ryan Preece won the race, scoring his first points-paying Cup Series victory and claiming the final position in The Chase.
“I’m just speechless right now,” Ryan said after the race. “Those guys, that 60 group, we’re fighters. When you put our back against the wall, we swing hard.”

That day, Tom announced the Days of Thunder sequel will be released in June 2028, and filming will take place after his new co-star, Anne Hathaway, has her baby.
Tom will reprise his role as NASCAR driver Cole Trickle from the original 1990 movie, while Anne will star as a team owner and engineer.
