Tom Brady kicked off the summer season with Instagram family photos alongside Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13—while dedicating the post to his absent eldest son, Jack, 18, who is preparing for his high school graduation.
Tom Brady’s summer started with a smile, a slideshow—and an absence you could feel.
On Wednesday. the seven-time Super Bowl champion took to Instagram to share family photos featuring his two youngest children. son Benjamin. 16. and daughter Vivian. 13. In the pictures. the 48-year-old retired quarterback appeared dressed casually in jeans. a long-sleeve shirt and a baseball cap. grinning widely with his arms around the kids as the season’s first days began.
But one key member of the gathering wasn’t there. Brady dedicated the post to his 18-year-old eldest son. John “Jack” Edward Thomas. who was away preparing for his high school graduation. In the caption, Brady wrote: “Schools out, vibes are high, just missing our super senior Jack… Can’t wait to celebrate your graduation with you.”.
Brady shares Jack with former partner Bridget Moynahan. Benjamin and Vivian are his two youngest children from his marriage to supermodel ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. The Instagram update came just two months after Brady was spotted enjoying father-son time with Jack in April. sitting courtside together as the Miami Heat played the Boston Celtics.
The longtime football star has also spoken about how involved he likes to be in his children’s lives. During a television appearance, he joked that his constant presence at their various youth sporting events can sometimes “irritate” them. Brady said they “want me to stand outside the arena when they’re playing. ” adding that he deliberately wears low-profile hoodies and hats so the attention stays on his children rather than on him.
The family is also carrying fresh spotlight beyond the photos. It was recently revealed that Vivian has forged a surprise friendship with the girlfriend of Rob Gronkowski. in part because of how intense the former New England Patriots star is when they reunite. Camille Kostek—who was a cheerleader with the Patriots when she began dating Gronkowski—had to keep the romance under wraps due to rules prohibiting players from getting romantically involved with Kostek and her fellow dancers.
Kostek described the bond as something that feels as real as it looks. “Tom and Rob are forever the GOATs,” she told People. “The two of them on the field are a power duo and the two of them off the field are just boys.”
She added: “They’re just boys. Honestly, when they spend time and they just throw the ball together, I’m not going with Rob to Tom’s house. I see them on FaceTime calls. I hear them talk on the phone. They’re so funny.”
For Brady, though, the overriding moment is clear: summer is here, the photos are up, and Jack is the missing piece he’s already promising to celebrate as soon as graduation wraps.
