Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk backs Chris Johnson

Amy Adams Strunk said the Titans will support Chris Johnson “every step of the way” after the former running back revealed he has been fighting ALS for more than a year.

When Chris Johnson went public about his fight with ALS. it wasn’t just a moment for a former running back—it landed on the franchise that once built its offense around his legs. The Titans followed quickly. and their message carried the weight of someone who knows what Johnson meant on and off the field.

Johnson revealed on Monday that he has been battling ALS for more than a year. His interview with Michael Strahan was televised by Good Morning America, and it set the stage for a team response that was immediate and unambiguous.

Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said Johnson is one of the rare figures whose impact stays in the organization long after a career ends. “Some people leave a mark on an organization that you just can’t put into words,” Strunk said. “Chris Johnson is one of those people for us. His leadership on the field. in addition to his impact in the locker room and Nashville community have written him permanently into the story of this franchise.”.

Strunk didn’t try to soften the difficulty of what Johnson is facing. “Learning this news is extremely difficult. and we will support Chris every step of the way throughout his journey.” She added that the Titans are holding Johnson and his family close. and that the organization is asking fans around the world to share in that support. “We are holding him and his family close. and join our fans around the world in expressing our love for Chris.”.

Johnson said he went public to bring hope to others who are suffering from ALS and to families caught in the same struggle. For fans who want to turn concern into action. his team’s statement pointed toward a practical next step: donating to ALS research efforts. Strunk noted that multiple groups are currently supporting ALS research and that the Titans are working to identify the best ones to promote for people who want to give.

The story, for the Titans, now has a second chapter beyond football—one defined by support, awareness, and the search for the right way to help while Johnson continues his fight.

  1. Wait ALS for more than a year?? That’s heartbreaking. Also Titans really always act like they care but I’m skeptical, so let’s see who they pick to donate to.

  2. I saw the headline about Strunk backing Chris Johnson and I thought this was about some contract thing or coaching change lol. ALS is serious though, my cousin had something similar. I just wonder why it took a year to say anything.

  3. It’s really nice that they’re holding him close or whatever, but honestly the NFL should have been aware/doing stuff already. Plus Michael Strahan interview on GMA… like of course it gets TV coverage. What I wanna know is exactly which research group they’re sending money to and if it’s legit or just PR.
