By about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. June 27. the sky above Las Vegas Ballpark is expected to fill with the sharp. unmistakable formation of the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. The elite demonstration squadron is set to help launch the 2026 Battle for Vegas as part of the America250 flyover planned across the Las Vegas valley.

The charity softball game’s spokesperson said the special flyover will take place at Las Vegas Ballpark at about 7:30 p.m. The schedule has since been spelled out by the Thunderbirds, released Friday as a full list of times and locations.

The plan starts with a takeoff from Nellis Air Force Base at 7:15 p.m. From there. the jets sweep over the Strip north to south pass between 7:20 and 7:22 p.m. then reverse for a Strip south to north pass from 7:23 to 7:25 p.m. The flight continues toward North Las Vegas VA Medical Center at 7:26 p.m. then moves to Lone Mountain at 7:29 p.m.

The Thunderbirds’ path then includes the Las Vegas Ballpark at 7:30 p.m., Red Rock Canyon at 7:32 p.m., and Mt Charleston at 7:34 p.m.—before reaching Hoover Dam at 7:47 p.m. After that, the jets are expected to land back at Nellis Air Force Base at 8:00 p.m.

There’s one visible detail viewers may be anticipating that won’t happen. While the flight will pass by Hoover Dam on Saturday, the large American flag will not be on display because of forecasted high winds.

The Thunderbirds are also scheduled to return over the dam on the morning of Tuesday, June 30, as they travel to Washington, D.C., for the Salute to America250 celebrations.

Organizers say people are encouraged to watch from public viewing locations around Southern Nevada, while following local traffic and safety guidance. All flyover times are estimates based on current data, and updates are expected to be posted Saturday through the squadron’s social media accounts.

The Battle for Vegas is built around its own lineup of local stars and community impact. Las Vegas Raiders tight end Brock Bowers will lead one team, while Vegas Golden Knights forward Reilly Smith will lead the other in the annual Battle for Vegas softball game.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Battle For Vegas Foundation and its community partners, including Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada and Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, along with other local organizations.

The Thunderbirds are based at Nellis Air Force Base, which is currently being rebranded as the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center—another reminder that this year’s show is about more than one night in the sky.
