Harry Kane was pictured preparing to board the plane to Miami from Birmingham Airport, a familiar start to a campaign that England are desperate to end with a trophy and without the ache of 60 years of hurt.

The captain leads a Three Lions squad flying to the United States for a pre-tournament training camp and warm-up matches along the Florida coast. England’s first stop after Miami will be a schedule that includes a clash with New Zealand on Saturday. followed by a match against Costa Rica next Wednesday.

Marcus Rashford is already in Miami. He flew out for solo preparation at Lionel Messi’s club, Inter Miami, and was pictured yesterday putting in work—breaking a sweat in training and then heading to the gym.

England had been set to jet out on Monday morning, with the departure now confirmed for Tuesday. At 10.45am local time on Tuesday, the squad will arrive at Palm Beach Gardens for an open community training session. Players will then speak to the media.

The public access continues on Friday, when another open training session at Palm Beach Gardens is scheduled for the morning. Tuchel and a player will address the media ahead of the New Zealand clash in the afternoon.

For the tournament itself, England have chosen Kansas City as their base for the entire World Cup. They will fly to their matches rather than move regularly throughout the competition.

Their opening game is against Croatia in Arlington, Texas, at the AT&T Stadium. Six days later, England will head to Foxborough, Massachusetts, to play Ghana at the Gillette Stadium. The squad’s final group match is pencilled in for June 27 against Panama at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford. New Jersey.

In Kansas City, England will stay at the Inn at Meadowbrook, a boutique hotel built in the style of an English country estate. The Three Lions have taken over the entire 54-bedroom property, complete with an American restaurant, firepits and a relaxed vibe.

Locals say the hotel’s staff have been furloughed for the duration of England’s stay, leaving some disappointed. FA security officials are thought to have asked for a wide-ranging perimeter at the hotel. but discussions with local police have reportedly led to a smaller cordoned-off area. It remains to be seen whether screens will be erected.

There is also an unusual logistical twist: while the hotel is in Kansas City, Kansas—around a 20-minute drive away—the training ground is in Kansas City, Missouri. The state line itself brings differences that England will be navigating every day.

With Kane heading out to Miami and Rashford already in rhythm in Florida, the schedule is turning quickly into something tangible: open sessions, media appearances, then the flight-plan tournament base in Kansas City and the first group clash against Croatia in Arlington.

  1. Wait Rashford is in Florida already like… alone? I don’t get why they separated him. Also why is England still “building up” if the World Cup is literally right there.

  2. Palm Beach Gardens open session Friday? That’s cool I guess but isn’t this the same place they always go before tournaments. And I saw something about New Zealand clash Saturday like they’re not serious? Like cmon, 60 years hurt is wild but maybe they should practice defense instead of gyms.

  3. Kansas City base?? That sounds fake, like they’re just picking a city for vibes. Also England vs New Zealand Saturday then Costa Rica Wednesday… but the article says Tuesday arrival so which day is what exactly. My cousin said Kane is playing in Miami against Messi or whatever, so I’m confused.
