These Democrats’ ‘Bro’ Vibes Have Jesse Watters Sweating, Co-Host Says

Fox News headliner Jesse Watters thinks two particular Democrats and their dude factor might be a “threat” to Republicans, according to his co-host on “The Five.”

Politico Jessica Tarlov shared a fascinating tidbit about Watters when Jack Cocchiarella, the host of MeidasTouch’s “On Sunday” podcast, asked her to dish about who on the left scares her conservative co-workers.

“You just want to know what Jesse says to me in the break?” she smirked before revealing how Georgia Sen. Jon Ossoff (D) and Maryland Gov. Wes Moore (D) have come up as politicians the GOP should keep an eye on.

“Ossoff definitely feels like a threat,” she explained. “I remember conversations about Wes Moore. It was NFL playoffs, and he was out tailgating outside of the Ravens Stadium, and they were like, ‘Oh, OK. Like, that’s a bro.’”

Speculating about the source of Watters’ anxiety, the token liberal on “The Five” explained, “Because everything is also through the frame of ‘masculinity’ or, you know, whatever Jesse’s drinking-through-the-straw, eating-the-ice-cream-cones masculinity is.”

Tarlov was nodding to some truly absurd manliness maxims her colleague has shared with Fox News viewers over the years.

Listing off his “five rules for men” during an episode of “The Five” last summer, Watters said, “They’re just funny, they’re not that serious. Like, you don’t eat soup in public. You don’t cross your legs. And you don’t drink from a straw. And one of the reasons you don’t drink from a straw is the way your lips purse. It’s very effeminate.”

His gripe with ice cream came back in 2024 while criticizing President Joe Biden and his love of frozen treats.

“This ice cream, you know my rule about men eating soup in public,” Watters said. “I don’t think it’s manly to go like that with the soup, and you’re blowing on it; it’s just not a good look.”

“I think the same thing for ice cream. You should save that for vacation,” he added. “A grown man — especially the president — should not be licking ice cream in public.”

Talking about how she handles being her show’s lone liberal earlier on in the interview, Tarlov said she knows she should tread lightly when offering facts that clash with Watters’ and Fox News’ conservative worldview.

“I like to think about it like, that they’re actually getting hurt by this information,” she explained. “Like, there’s a physical response to it. So be gentle, right? Like, I’m gentle with my toddlers, and I’m gentle with my Jesse.”
