‘The Agency’ Trailer Drops Ahead of Season 2

Paramount+ has released the first official trailer for Season 2 of Michael Fassbender’s international espionage thriller ‘The Agency,’ confirming a June 21 premiere date after the show’s late-2024 surge on streaming charts.
The first official trailer for Season 2 of Paramount+’s international espionage thriller ‘The Agency’ hits right when viewers have been waiting the longest—more than a year after Season 1 ended, and after the series quietly built momentum on streaming charts.
Michael Fassbender returns as Martian, a CIA agent living undercover in his own life. In the trailer’s lead-up to Season 2. the stakes are already spelled out by the show’s official story: Martian’s lover. Samia. is a political prisoner in Sudan. and the synopsis makes it clear he’ll do anything to get her back—“even past the point of treachery.” The only way out. the series promises. is “deeper in.”.
The Season 2 premiere is set for June 21. Paramount+ has been moving on the show’s future too: it picked up ‘The Agency’ for a second season while Season 1 was still airing. And even with the first season debuting alongside the first season of Taylor Sheridan’s ‘Landman. ’ ‘The Agency’ still became one of Paramount’s most-watched titles in late 2024. a sign that audiences were there when the waiting started.
Fassbender isn’t new to high-pressure roles. He’s widely known for his blockbuster work as Magneto in Fox’s ‘X-Men’ movies. and he’s a two-time Oscar nominee for ‘12 Years a Slave’ and ‘Steve Jobs.’ His recent return to acting came after a four-year hiatus—he starred in the 2023 David Fincher-directed hitman thriller ‘The Killer. ’ which was released straight to streaming on Netflix and earned widespread acclaim from critics and audiences as one of the most methodical hitman movies of all time.
‘The Agency’ also leans into prestige casting. Alongside Fassbender are Jeffrey Wright and Richard Gere. with Jodie Turner-Smith. Katherine Waterson. Harriet Sansom Harris. John Magaro. Saura Lightfood-Leon. India Fowler. Andrew Brooke. Christian Ochoa Lavernia. Reza Brojerdi. Ambreen Razia. and Alex Reznik rounding out additional cast. Dominic West and Hugh Bonneville are set to guest star.
