NFL legend Andre Johnson did not hold back in calling out Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud after their loss in Week 1.
Houston Texans quarterback CJ Stroud did not hide his dismay after their tough loss to the Buffalo Bills, 36-31, at Reliant Stadium on Sunday. They had multiple chances in the see-saw affair, but they could not get it done in crunch time.
Stroud went 26-of-38 for 274 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions. He was sacked three times. But even his solid outing was not enough to lift the Texans past the Bills.
While the 24-year-old signal-caller has played well since arriving in 2023 as the No. 2 pick, Texans legend Andre Johnson pointed out a facet that Stroud needs to change.
“With him, and this is just me personally, but (what) I dislike about CJ is his body language. His body language is bad,” said Johnson on “LGND Talk.”
“I think, as a former player, your quarterback having that type of body language is bad, because other guys look at you as the quarterback. So when they see you, or they see you feeling a certain way, or your body language a certain way, it kind of trickles through the team. So that, I would say, that’s the biggest thing that bothers me when I watch the team play.”

Johnson starred at wide receiver for the Texans from 2003 to 2014, becoming a four-time All-Pro and seven-time Pro Bowler.
Stroud, who is in the final year of his rookie contract, has been angling for a lucrative extension with the Texans, but the two sides have struggled to find a compromise.
Fans can only hope that it will not be a distraction for Houston.
The Texans will visit the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 2.
