Tempo all-star Marina Mabrey out vs. Valkyries with neck injury

The Toronto Tempo will be without their all-star as they try to end a five-game skid on Sunday.
Marina Mabrey is out for the Tempo’s game against the Golden State Valkyries with a neck injury, according to the WNBA’s injury report.
Recent Tempo trade acquisition Aneesah Morrow was also out due to return-to-play conditioning.

The 29-year-old is averaging a career-high 20.9 points, 3. rebounds and 3. assists over 27 games while shooting 38.7 per cent on 8.3 three-point attempts. Mabrey ranks fifth in the league in points per game and first in threes (3.2).
She also tied the WNBA record for single-game scoring with 53 points on June 25 against the Los Angeles Sparks.
Mabrey was selected by the Tempo in the April expansion draft and signed to a two-year, $2.4-million contract.
Tempo Rookie Kiki Rice replaced Mabrey in the team’s starting lineup.
