Bandai Namco says Tekken 8 Patch 3.01.01 will go live after a scheduled server maintenance window on May 27, with Kunimitsu’s Season 3 Early Access supported and unintended behavior addressed.
Servers are set to go quiet just as players are lining up for Season 3 access.
Bandai Namco has announced the exact start time for Tekken 8 Patch 3.01.01 maintenance. ahead of the patch release that will support the upcoming Kunimitsu Early Access. The timing is tight: maintenance begins on May 27 in multiple time zones. and the patch is scheduled to go live about 30 minutes later.
Kunimitsu is set to be the first character released for Season 3 of Tekken 8. She will precede Bob, Roger Jr. and Yujiro Hanma from the Grappler Baki series. As a standalone character, Kunimitsu becomes available on June 1. Players with a Season 3 Pass will be able to access her early starting May 28. with May 27 the start date for those living in the West.
That early access window is exactly why Bandai Namco is pushing out a new patch. The company said: “A patch for Tekken 8 will drop on May 28 at 0:00 CEST | May 27 15:00 PDT | May 28 7:00 JST.” The patch is intended to “support Kunimitsu Early Access. correct unintended behavior and etc.” Bandai Namco added that “Details of the update will be provided in the patch notes on the day of release.”.
To deploy Patch 3.01.01, a server maintenance period will start on May 27 at 23:30 CEST | May 27 14:30 PDT | May 28 6:30 JST. During that maintenance window. Bandai Namco warned that “All online content will be unavailable during maintenance.” In other words. for players in North America. the maintenance period begins at 2:30 p.m. PDT and 5:30 p.m. EDT. The patch itself is expected to go live about 30 minutes after maintenance starts.
On top of the maintenance schedule, Bandai Namco also made it clear what players should expect from the update on release day: patch notes, arriving later today, will spell out the details behind the changes.
For anyone planning to play Tekken 8 around the cutoff, the message is straightforward—Kunimitsu’s early access is coming, but first the servers have to be taken offline long enough for Patch 3.01.01 to be deployed.

Wait it says maintenance May 27 but patch goes live 30 mins later? That seems super rushed, like they’re just turning stuff off and hoping it works. Also Kunimitsu early access May 28 0:00 CEST sounds confusing, I’m in the West and now I’m second guessing my timezone.
They’re taking servers offline at 2:30 p.m. PDT and then it’s like 30 mins after that, right? So basically the whole day is ruined for anyone who’s off work late… unless I misread. I swear these patch notes always arrive after everything’s already broken anyway.
Kunimitsu again… and they said it addresses “unintended behavior and etc.” which is vague as hell. Unintended behavior like what, like people using the wrong move? Or is it gonna be another thing where they nerf someone I like because of some tournament clip? Also I don’t get why Bob and Roger Jr are mentioned like I’m supposed to care about Grappler Baki timing with Tekken patch maintenance.
