Ted Cruz’s Dolly Parton Tribute Post Takes An Unexpected NSFW Twist

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) was forced to delete his tribute post to legendary singer and philanthropist Dolly Parton after the original poster of the video pulled some trickery that he was likely not too pleased about, multiple outlets reported.

Cruz originally shared a video of the late singer appearing on “The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson” from an X account with the handle “@lebatardshowfan.”

“Legend,” Cruz wrote, adding crying, heart and prayer emojis.

The clip showed Parton bantering with Carson with her trademark wit before performing a song she wrote about her appearances on the show.

The issues for Cruz came when the user apparently noticed the senator had quote-tweeted his post and changed the display name to something a little more not-safe-for-work: “Ted Cruz’s tiny dick.”

This meant, for a fair amount of time, one of the most prominent Republicans in Congress had his name above an account named “Ted Cruz’s tiny dick”

Cruz eventually deleted his post, but the user’s original tribute to Parton continued to garner views and engagement.

The original post had more than 85,000 likes and over 4 million views as of Wednesday evening.

Parton died Tuesday at the age of 80 after a brief battle with cancer.
