Ted Cruz Goes Off on Abdul El-Sayed’s Fox News Circumcision Interview: ‘Cutting It Off!’

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) ripped Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D) for comparing his support for trans surgeries for minors to circumcision, with the Texas conservative saying he was appalled a doctor would make such a link.
He was referring to the instantly viral moment on Fox News last week when host Jesse Watters asked El-Sayed if he felt it was appropriate to “slash his kid’s ding-a-ling off.” El-Sayed responded by asking Watters, “Are you circumcised?”
Cruz said he found El-Sayed’s response to be really bizarre during a Saturday appearance in Iowa to stump for Senate candidate Rep. Ashley Hinson (R-IA).
“[Watters] asked him about his support for mutilating the genitals of children, and his response was ‘Jesse, are you circumcised? By the way, this guy’s a doctor?!” Cruz said.
“If he didn’t know the difference between that and cutting it off…” Cruz continued, before pausing for a few seconds to chuckle and let the audience soak it up, “That’s kind of a big difference!”
Cruz laughed in disbelief a bit more.
“He’s a medical doctor! ‘Ah, same thing.’ No, not the same thing,” he added. “But understand, this is what the left does: they lie.”
Watters was similarly stunned by El-Sayed’s comeback when the two sparred on August 24.
“A circumcision’s different than castration,” Watters told him.
“I just think it’s a problem that you think you get to decide what happens between a parent, a doctor, and a patient,” El-Sayed said about trans surgeries for kids. “I’m just saying that, yes, circumcision is surgery on a kid’s ding-a-ling, so if you really wanna bring that up, you can.”
After the interview, Watters said he liked El-Sayed personally — but that he believed the liberal was a “bit of a lunatic” and would be a “terrible senator.”
