A Georgia high school administrator turned herself into a case file after a teenage boy told investigators she allegedly had sex with him more than once—and that she even begged him to run away with her to Mexico.

Amanda Katz, 55, was arrested Tuesday, June 2, and charged with improper sexual contact. Before taking an administrative role at Roswell High School, she worked as a teacher at the school, according to the account set out in an affidavit reviewed by the New York Post.

The arrest followed the boy’s report to investigators that he had unprotected sex several times with Katz. He said the relationship was mostly physical at her home and in the backseat of her Jaguar car.

The most recent alleged encounter came during a Valentine’s Day vacation that Katz invited the boy and his family to join. During that trip, the boy’s mother found texts she believed showed her son was intimate with Katz. After that discovery, the family fled the vacation. Katz returned to work in what police described as a “manic” state.

In the affidavit, police said Katz told coworkers she was “distraught” that she “could no longer see her ‘boyfriend’ because his mother doesn’t like her.” The officer wrote that as she spoke, it “ultimately came out” that the person she was referring to was “the juvenile.”

Police then reviewed the communications between Katz and the boy and found 19,585 texts exchanged between Christmas and Valentine’s Day, which the affidavit says made it clear Katz was deeply involved with the teenager.

One message allegedly captured her emotions as she described wanting to keep them from being discovered. She allegedly wrote: “As much as I loved falling asleep next to you and you growling. I want you … I am not even sure we could hide it.” In another message. the affidavit says Katz wrote. “I am crazy about you …. I have done a lot of stupid things. A lot. But this is top level.”.

Police also allege Katz told the boy the sex was “fun” and suggested she would change her entire life to be with him. In a text included in the affidavit, she allegedly wrote, “The easiest thing would be to leave Roswell,” and said she would “walk away from everything” to be with him.

After the boy’s mother learned about the relationship, investigators say Katz texted him, “I loved you. And this is the most f***** up and scary thing that has ever happened to me.” In another message. the affidavit says Katz wrote. “You f******* broke my heart … This is probably the worst thing anyone has ever done to me. You abandoned me. You did, not your mom.”.

Investigators also say the boy told them Katz was pushing him toward a future with her. He claimed she wanted to move to Mexico with him, according to the affidavit, but he said he didn’t want to go and didn’t understand why she would want to.

During the investigation, Katz was put on leave and later resigned on April 30. She was released from custody on Thursday, June 4, after posting a 25,000 bond. At the time of the arrest reporting, it was not clear whether she entered a plea or retained legal counsel. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
