Taylor Swift spends 13 hours at Electric Lady

Taylor Swift fueled new album speculation after a June 15 overnight session at Electric Lady Studios in Manhattan, following months since her 2025 album “The Life of a Showgirl” and soon after her “Toy Story 5” song “I Knew It, I Knew You.”

Taylor Swift’s night at Electric Lady Studios began like any other drop-in—then stretched into something fans couldn’t ignore.

She was spotted entering Electric Lady Studios in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village around 8:30 p.m. on June 15 and didn’t leave until roughly 6 the next morning, a nine-hour run inside the recording rooms that quickly turned into new album rumors.

Electric Lady Studios has been a recurring stop for Swift’s career. She previously recorded large portions of “Lover” (2019), “Folklore” (2020), “Midnights” (2022), and “The Tortured Poets Department” (2024) there. During her re-recording era. “Fearless (Taylor’s Version). ” “Red (Taylor’s Version). ” “Speak Now (Taylor’s Version). ” and “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” were also shaped within the studio’s walls.

That history is part of what made the June 15 visit feel like more than a casual studio hang. Fans also had a timing trigger: it has been several months since her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” was released.

As images from the late-night arrival circulated online, social media filled with hopeful reactions. “It’s giving Midnights,” one fan commented on a Just Jared Instagram post that included three photos of Swift arriving at Electric Lady Studios. Another wrote, “TS13 is cooking.”

Swift was seen leaving the studio with two of her friends and collaborators, Alana Haim and Danielle Haim. For the outing, she wore a tan cropped polo shirt and jeans, and carried a brown bag. She also matched with brown heeled sandals and simple gold jewelry.

So far, Taylor Swift has not announced or teased a new album. Still. the speculation has a particular edge because a potential 13th studio record would come with extra meaning—13 is famously known as her lucky number. In a 2009 interview with MTV News. she reflected on how the number has appeared across major moments: she said she was born on the 13th. turned 13 on Friday the 13th. saw her first album. “Taylor Swift. ” go gold in 13 weeks. and described her first No. 1 song having a 13-second intro. She also said that whenever she’s won an award. she’s been seated in either the 13th seat or the 13th row. “Basically, whenever a 13 comes up in my life, it’s a good thing,” she said.

The June studio session is landing close to another new thread in her timeline. Swift has dropped a song for “Toy Story 5” titled “I Knew It. I Knew You.” In a June 5 Instagram post celebrating the release. she wrote. “Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time… And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on. to infinity and beyond.”.
