Taylor Swift releases ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ for Toy Story 5

Taylor Swift has released a new song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” written and co-produced with Jack Antonoff for Toy Story 5—while director Andrew Stanton praised how deeply it connects to Jessie and the film’s emotional core.
Taylor Swift didn’t just drop a new track this week. She tied it to a world she’s been watching since she was five years old.
Swift released a new song titled “I Knew It, I Knew You” for Toy Story 5. She co-wrote and co-produced the track with Jack Antonoff, whose Bleachers bandmates play on the song.
“I’ve always dreamed of getting to write for these characters who I’ve adored since I was a 5 year old kid watching the first Toy Story movie. ” Swift wrote earlier this week. “I fell instantly in love with Toy Story 5 when I was lucky enough to see it in its early stages. and I wrote this song as soon as I got home from the screening. Sometimes you just know, right?”.
When the song came out, Swift framed it as both a risk and a homecoming. “Writing this song felt like a musical departure and coming home at the same time. Creating something for Jessie was a new challenge and also felt like second nature all at once. And being a @toystory kid from the age of 5 til now… is an adventure I plan to be on. to infinity and beyond.”.
Toy Story’s own creative leadership sees the effort the way Swift described it—immediate, instinctive, and rooted in character. The film’s director. Andrew Stanton. said: “It’s incredible just how meaningful it’s been having Taylor write and perform this song. Her connection to Jessie and the immediate way she understood what the character was going through was undeniable. The song is so deeply connected to Toy Story. So much so that on first listen. it instantly felt like it had always belonged there. like a long-lost family member. It was kismet.”.
The track is paired with video links embedded from YouTube, including https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzJXikN_4wA.

Wait so Toy Story is on YouTube now? I’m confused, is this like a trailer or a real song? Either way I hate that this is catchy.
I Knew It I Knew You sounds like something my aunt would say lol. But honestly Jessie needed a song like this. Taylor been a Toy Story kid forever, kinda makes sense.
Not to be that guy but didn’t Taylor already write for Toy Story 4? Like I swear I saw something similar. Maybe I’m mixing it up with a different movie? Also Jack Antonoff working on everything lately.
Andrew Stanton saying it “instantly belonged” is giving marketing speak but I get it. Jessie is the one that always hits the hardest, and Taylor pretending she didn’t cry while writing it… yeah sure. Also the link to YouTube is weirdly specific, like they’re really pushing the exact video. I’m gonna listen once and somehow end up watching the whole movie again.
