Taylor Swift hails Paul McCartney’s “eternally exceptional”

Taylor Swift boosted Paul McCartney’s momentum with a high-praise nod shared on Instagram Stories, echoing his Beatlemania-era comparisons and celebrating the “eternally exceptional” artist.

Taylor Swift didn’t just like Paul McCartney’s latest update—she amplified it.

Swift reshared a post McCartney made on Instagram about his new album, The Boys of Dungeon Lane. Over the repost, she wrote, “Never not inspired by this eternally exceptional artist.”

The praise lands amid a busy stretch for McCartney. who recently stirred up fresh talk about fame by drawing parallels between Swift’s global reach and the frenzy of Beatlemania. In a May interview with BBC Sounds. he was asked if he had any advice for Swift. especially since her worldwide popularity mirrors the same level of attention the Beatles—and McCartney himself—once drew.

McCartney didn’t shy away from the comparison. “You do see the parallel, you know the fame and the amount of fame, the worldwide fame that Taylor Swift has and that we had,” he said.

But he also made it clear he doesn’t think Swift needs a lesson right now. “I don’t think she needs any advice. If she asked for it, I definitely would because I’m like the older brother to that generation, or more like the grandad, actually,” McCartney said.

His comments widened further beyond Swift. The music icon said he’s met Billie Eilish. Olivia Rodrigo. and Sabrina Carpenter—among other major artists—at a party hosted by his wife. Nancy Shevell. and their daughter. Stella. Speaking about the younger crop, McCartney said, “They’re really cool people, they’re very good… I like their voices. If they need any advice, yeah, I would be happy to give it, but I don’t think they do.”.

All of this circles back to the kind of mutual support that has followed both artists for years. In 2020. Swift announced the surprise release of Evermore for December 11—the same day Paul McCartney had originally planned to release McCartney III. McCartney later postponed his album by one week, saying he wanted to avoid the overlap.
