After gradually increasing its viewership over the course of its Season 3 run, the spy thriller series Lioness has been overtaken on the streaming charts by a show that didn’t exactly have a great start. The Netflix series, The Gentlemen, witnessed a 45% decline in viewership upon its Season 2 return. However, it bounced back the following week. Although The Gentlemen is still trailing its first season, the show has passed the 100 million views mark in total. Meanwhile, its resurgence helped it gain a few spots on the latest edition of the Nielsen report. Nielsen tracks viewership data across multiple industries, and recently shortened its streaming reporting delay from four weeks to two.
The latest edition of the Nielsen streaming report tracks data for the week of September 7 to September 13, during which Prime Video’s Reacher took the top spot for the fifth time running. Reacher was also the only title on the list to have topped the 1 billion minutes watched mark, which it had been doing in the previous four weeks as well. Meanwhile, The Gentlemen and Lioness settled into the middle of the table. The shows are spearheaded by Guy Ritchie and Taylor Sheridan, respectively, which adds another layer of drama to their face off. Ritchie broke the record for Paramount+’s biggest debut with MobLand, a show modeled on Sheridan’s Yellowstone.

Gi-hun is not the strongest player in Squid Game, or the cleverest. He is the one who
keeps choosing to protect somebody else, over and over, at genuine cost to himself.
You have the same instinct. You notice who is struggling and you stay with them, long
after anybody would blame you for leaving.
He is a flawed friend, and that is part of why it lands. He lets people down, then comes
back and tries again, which is more than most manage.
He would give you his last chance and never once mention that he had done it.
Guy Ritchie and Taylor Sheridan Are Both on a Roll
According to Nielsen, The Gentlemen placed fifth on the latest list with 881 million minutes watched; this represents a 22% increase over week-one’s numbers. Lioness slipped to the number-six spot with 834 million minutes watched for the week. Both shows received excellent reviews in their latest seasons, with The Gentlemen Season 2 sitting at 86% on the aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, and Lioness Season 3 holding an 88% score. Ritchie is also enjoying the success of MobLand, which recently returned with a second season, and In the Grey, which is currently the number-one movie domestically on Starz. Meanwhile, Sheridan’s Those Who Wish Me Dead also found a spot on the latest Nielsen report, finishing fourth on the movies list. Stay tuned to Collider for more updates.
