Taylor Frankie Paul remembers the night as the point she couldn’t keep pretending things were fine.
In an interview with E! News, Paul described her altercation with Dakota Mortensen as their “rock bottom for sure.” She said Mortensen “stood by” her because he “knew everything going on behind closed doors,” adding, “That was a horrible night and I’m full of regret.”
Paul linked that bottom to what she said she had been dealing with medically and emotionally in the months before the fight. On the Viall Files podcast in September 2024. she said she had an ectopic pregnancy a few months prior and then a chemical pregnancy. She told listeners, “I don’t want to blame hormones, but I will put that into account. Like, I am pretty whack.”.
When she described what the night looked like, it wasn’t just anger on its own. She said she felt lost and angry enough to drink, telling the podcast, “I was feeling so low I went and drank that night. And Dakota picks me up and he’s angry that I drank.”
Paul said the confrontation had been building up. and she placed the scene in the middle of a family setting—babysitters. a couch. and the question of who was in the room. She said, “I remember throwing things, and I don’t know my daughters on the couch. We had babysitters there, so I think they’re upstairs sleeping.”.
She also alleged that Mortensen tried to tell her that her then 5-year-old daughter was present. Paul said she didn’t respond in the moment the way she wishes she had, saying, “I’m like so gone I don’t care, and I throw another chair.”
Throughout her account, Paul returned to the same emotional thread: the feeling that everything had collapsed, and the regret that followed. She said Mortensen was also at his own low point—“Dakota has been at rock bottom himself”—and that he told her, “I want to help you out of this.”

I feel like the Mormon wives thing is just clickbait. People keep saying “rock bottom” but nobody mentions the kid being there?? If that was true that’s terrifying. Also ectopic pregnancy and then chemical pregnancy?? that’s a lot to deal with, but throwing chairs is not ok.
Am I reading this right, she called police over something and then did an interview like it’s a storyline? Like I get emotions but also why bring up “secret lives” unless that’s just tabloids being tabloids. My cousin went through ectopic stuff too and she was a mess emotionally, but she didn’t like… throw stuff with babysitters upstairs? Something about the timeline feels off.
