T-Mobile is closing retail stores and laying off workers: See a list of locations that will be impacted

T-Mobile is continuing to lay off workers and close retail stores in the U.S. 

The mobile communications company has disclosed 63 new layoffs across 13 locations in Washington state. The impacted employees worked at a mix of retail stores and T-Mobile headquarters. 

The layoffs, which were communicated to the Washington Employment Security Department, are set to occur between September 21 and November 18, 2026.

In addition to the 63 employees mentioned, another 14 workers will see their employment end during that period. Their layoffs had previously been announced but were deferred. 

Layoffs at the wireless giant were reported earlier by the Seattle-based outlet KIRO 7 News.

Further, T-Mobile told the employment security department that six of its locations will be closing. In some cases, these closures are the cause of layoffs, with some employees offered the chance to relocate.

T-Mobile has been restructuring

In the first half of 2026, T-Mobile cut its head count by 4,671 employees in the U.S. The figure was announced by the German company Deutsche Telekom, the majority owner of T-Mobile US.

The drop represents a 6.7% decrease in U.S. employees from January 1, 2026, to June 30, 2026.
