SZA and – CoComelon: The Movie is bringing in major new voices, with SZA, Nicholas Hoult, and Sarah Sherman among the latest cast additions ahead of its 2027 theater debut.
CoComelon: The Movie just leveled up its cast, and the surprise names coming in are anything but small.. The upcoming animated theatrical spinoff has revealed multiple actors and comedians joining the voice cast for new characters—among them SZA. Nicholas Hoult. and Saturday Night Live star Sarah Sherman.
Joining them are Ike Barinholtz, Ego Nwodim, Josh Johnson, Matt Friend, Cristo Fernández, and Rhys Darby.
The film will also feature returning voices from the original series, including Connor Esterson as JJ, Camden Brooks as Cody, Olivia London Leyva as Nina, and Aerina DeBoer as CeCe.
While details on the movie’s plot are still under wraps, the project is being described as an “epic adventure” following JJ, his friends, and several new characters on a journey beyond the world fans already know.
The studio also has plenty of momentum on the business side of things: CoComelon: The Movie is scheduled for a February 19, 2027, theatrical release by Universal Pictures. Kat Good—who previously worked on the Kung Fu Panda franchise as a story artist—is directing.
The CoComelon franchise first launched on YouTube before becoming one of the biggest children’s brands worldwide, later expanding into streaming, live entertainment, music, and merchandise. It has also spawned spinoffs such as CoComelon Lane, Cody Time, and Nina’s Familia.
