Swift’s “Olive Branch” Invite to Blake Lively Before Wedding

Swift extends – Ahead of her wedding, Taylor Swift may be extending an “olive branch” to Blake Lively, after months of public distance tied to the It Ends With Us legal drama and related lawsuits. An insider says Lively could attend because “everyone around Taylor” knows she’

Taylor Swift’s wedding is close enough that the details are starting to feel like they’re floating in the same air as the invitations. And for Blake Lively, the one question that wouldn’t go away may finally be answered.

An insider says Swift has extended what they call an “olive branch” to Lively by inviting her to the wedding. “Everyone around Taylor is aware that Blake could attend. She may not, but that won’t be because she isn’t welcome,” the insider told DailyMail. The source added. “Blake is on the cusp of getting a second chance. and they have had some loose conversations to test the waters to get the trust back. Blake is slowly getting back into the fold now that Taylor is having a change of heart.”.

The news lands like a reversal because, for a while, it looked as if Lively wouldn’t make it to Swift’s big day at all. The expectation that Lively would be shut out was rooted in the wider fallout that has framed their relationship in public.

It all started with the It Ends With Us legal drama. Rumors of a rift between Lively and her co-star Baldoni circulated from the beginning. Those whispers became harder to ignore after Lively filed a lawsuit against Baldoni for sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign in a civil suit back in Dec 2024. The New York Times wrote about the case.

Days later, Baldoni filed a libel suit against The New York Times. The following month, he filed a civil defamation suit against Lively and her husband. After Swift was drawn into the dispute. rumors of a rift between her and Lively emerged too. and they seemed to gain weight when Lively didn’t congratulate Swift on her engagement to Kelce.

Even with the distance, one small thread remained in the public imagination: Swift has been the godmother to Lively’s children. That detail made the break feel less final, but it also made the “would she or wouldn’t she” question about the wedding more loaded.

Before this new claim. earlier this year. sources told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack that Lively was convinced she’d be invited. In that account, “Blake is totally optimistic. She’s acting like the invite is already in the mail. She keeps going back to the beginning. She was around when Taylor and Travis first got together — she feels like part of their story.”.

Now, with the insider’s “olive branch” wording, the story moves from speculation to something closer to possibility: Lively may still be pulled back toward Swift’s inner circle, even after months of public separation.

There’s a sequence to how the tension has unfolded in the background—Lively’s Dec 2024 civil suit against Baldoni for sexual harassment and a retaliatory smear campaign. Baldoni’s libel suit against The New York Times days later. and then his civil defamation suit against Lively and her husband the following month. Swift’s later involvement fed the rumors of a broader rift. and Lively’s failure to congratulate Swift on her engagement to Kelce became one of the sharper markers that people watched for signs of how far things had gone.

If Lively’s wedding plans truly hinge on whether she’s “welcome,” then the question becomes less about whether the past exists—and more about what a second chance looks like once trust has been stretched.

For now, what’s clear is the idea that Swift’s wedding isn’t being approached as a hard cutoff. The insider’s message is direct: the possibility of Lively being there is real within Swift’s orbit. and the conversations to rebuild trust have already started. Whether Lively accepts that moment is still open—but the door, according to the account, is no longer shut.

  1. Olive branch?? Sounds more like damage control tbh. If she’s “welcome” then why was she so distant in the first place, ya know?

  2. I saw somewhere that Blake’s not even allowed to go because of the lawsuit stuff and now this says she might attend?? So which is it. Also the part about the NYT libel suit is confusing like… why does that affect a wedding invite lol.

  3. Idk I feel like this is fake nice. They said “everyone around Taylor knows she’s” invited but the article cuts off, so I’m guessing details got left out. And “second chance”?? Isn’t that what people say when they want to pretend the It Ends With Us drama didn’t happen. Probably PR, but hey I hope it works out.
