Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Prince George’s County, Maryland, is launching its “Super Hero Summer featuring DC,” running through Labor Day with daily light shows, interactive events, and weekend character appearances from Superman, Wonder
At Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, families don’t have to wait for the weekend to feel like they’ve stepped into a comic book.
Starting this summer, the resort is rolling out “Super Hero Summer featuring DC,” a program designed to run through Labor Day and fill the property with superheroes, themed games, and interactive experiences.
Each night. guests will be able to catch the resort’s “Battle for Justice” light show. where the villains go up against the superheroes and the outcome decides who’s “triumphant at the end.” David Bracamonte. the director of creative for special events and entertainment. also highlighted the DC Super Hero Academy. an interactive show meant to help visitors “awaken your inner superhero.”.
For families who want to put their wits to work, the resort is offering the “Revenge of the Riddler Scavenger Hunt,” a puzzle-driven challenge across the resort built around a rescue mission. Guests are tasked with solving puzzles to “rescue kidnapped members of the Justice League.”
Weekend days will add another layer, with Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman making live appearances. Bracamonte said to “focus on those weekend dates. Saturdays and Sundays” for the best chance to meet the characters “live and in person. ” including a supersized lineup from what he described as the Hall of Justice.
The theme isn’t confined to the stage. The superhero energy is spilling into the pool area with games like DC trivia and poolside movie nights. Guests can watch iconic superhero films while lounging in the water, turning a typical hotel swim into something more like an afternoon event.
Dan McKeon. area general manager at Gaylord National Resort. said in a statement that Super Hero Summer builds on the resort’s “entertainment legacy” by offering “interactive adventures. spectacular shows and unique experiences.” He added that it’s “the only place in the capital region where families can experience this level of immersive summer fun.”.

My kids would LOVE this, but Labor Day is already chaos for us. Also the “Battle for Justice” sounds intense for a resort light show? Like is there gonna be actual fighting lol.
So the villains “decide” who’s triumphant at the end… is that code for like, the kids get to vote or something? I saw somewhere that it’s just DC trivia and pool movies, which my niece would still enjoy but not gonna lie I thought it was bigger than that.
Capital region where families can experience immersive summer fun?? Isn’t that literally every hotel now with a themed event. Also “Justice League” rescue mission sounds like it’s gonna be confusing, like are they kidnapping adults too or only the comic characters? 😂
