The local crime prevention officer offered some helpful advice for local homeowners. “We would encourage homeowners to make sure garages and sheds are properly secured, install sensor lighting where possible, and record serial numbers and photographs of valuable items. Even simple
measures can make a significant difference. “As the evenings get brighter and more people are working outdoors, expensive equipment such as lawnmowers, power tools and gardening machinery can become targets for criminals.” Sgt O’Halloran concluded: “If somebody is offering property at a price that seems too good to be true, particularly through unofficial channels or without documentation, we’d urge people not to engage and to report it to Gardaí immediately.”
