Stokes withdrawn as ECB nudges England Test return

Ben Stokes has been withdrawn from the remainder of Durham’s County Championship match against Northamptonshire in a clear indication that he will return to England’s Test team. Gus Atkinson has also reportedly been withdrawn from Surrey’s side for the third day of their match against Glamorgan. England captain Stokes and fast bowler Atkinson were left out of the second Test against New Zealand following an investigation into an incident in a London nightclub. So they “nudge” him back to the Test team like it’s a parking ticket? Weird.
Midnight curfew and a London nightclub incident… so like they just get to play for their counties anyway? I don’t get how that’s not a big deal.
Wait Atkinson got withdrawn too, but it says England had an investigation with security and a Saracens player?? Was Saracens even at that club lol. This whole thing sounds like a game of telephone.
Ben Stokes catching 95 runs makes it sound like he’s fine, but apparently he was out causing trouble with midnight curfew. If ECB doesn’t confirm anything yet then what are they even doing? Also I’m pretty sure nightclub incidents = automatic ban in every sport, so this feels backwards.
