Steve Burton is back in court, and this time his new filing zeroes in on the way his ex, Sheree Gustin, is allegedly handling custody with their 11-year-old daughter, Brooklyn.

The General Hospital actor, 55, is accusing Gustin of “blatant parental alienation” and of “systematically” undermining his relationship with Brooklyn. In court documents obtained by Page Six, Burton also claims Gustin has “made it impossible” for him to exercise his court-ordered custody.

At the center of his complaint is his allegation that Gustin “repeatedly refus[ed]” to allow Burton’s current wife. Michelle Lundstrom—whom he married in 2025—to pick up their daughter from school on his behalf. Burton says Lundstrom is a “consistent parental figure” in Brooklyn’s life. and that Gustin’s refusals have created “unnecessary obstacles” to his ability to exercise custodial time and keep “regular and meaningful contact” with Brooklyn.

Burton argues that instead of supporting his relationship with his daughter. Gustin has “routinely made exercising my parenting time more difficult than necessary. ” in language included in the complaint. He also alleges that Gustin won’t “acknowledge Michelle’s role as [his] wife or Michelle’s daughters as Brooklyn’s stepsisters. ” despite Burton saying Brooklyn has a “close relationship” with them.

The filing extends beyond weekday logistics. Burton claims Gustin refused to work with him on allowing Brooklyn to visit his home in Tennessee after he moved out of California.

In her response. filmed obtained by People. she denied Burton’s claims of “alienation. ” saying the former couple had worked out a parenting schedule in previous litigation. Gustin says she is happy for Brooklyn to spend time with her father. but does not want the 11-year-old to “spend half her life traveling” or be away from home for longer than three weeks. She also argues that if Burton wants to see their daughter more than the allotted time. he can come to California to visit.

Burton and Gustin first went to court when Burton filed for divorce in July 2022. The case began months after Burton and Gustin announced they were separated, when Gustin was pregnant with another man’s child.

Along with Brooklyn, the former couple are parents to daughter McKenna, 23, and Jack, 20.

Earlier this year, Burton announced that he is taking an extended break from General Hospital.
