Stephen Crichton has kicked a late penalty goal to help Canterbury slow the Bulldogs’ worrying run of NRL form with a 14-12 win over Parramatta. Crichton struck from the tee in the 76th minute at Accor Stadium on Monday after Eels hooker Tallyn Da Silva was penalised for a questionable high shot on Matt Burton. Volkman forced a goal-line drop-out but Da Silva brought the halfback’s work undone when he was penalised for an escort on Tupouniua – and then handed the Bulldogs the win. Da Silva was placed on report by referee Todd Smith for a debatable high shot on Bulldogs five-eighth Burton and Crichton stepped up to slot the winning penalty from 40m out.

I swear Burton always stays down and it turns into a whole thing. Not even sure that high shot was that bad but whatever, Bulldogs got bailed out.
So Papalii’s try got called back for knock on… then they score like right after? Seems like refs were just flipping a coin. Also 230m in the first half but still only 14-12? Attack was doing cardio more than scoring.
Accor Stadium and a 76th minute penalty, classic. I didn’t even realize Burton was sent for head injury assessment, like how is that not the main story?? Then they talk about Da Silva “questionable” high shot like it’s a weather report. Bulldogs defense must’ve been better than their possession because that Eels comeback was real.
